Seniors Housing

Being able to age in place is extremely important to those who have made our communities home for many years. Unfortunately, due to the lack of dedicated seniors housing (independent living, assisted living, residential care) facilities, the lack of public (and private) transportation for medical services, and the lack of home support services are forcing many seniors to relocate to towns like Sechelt or even off-coast where those services are readily available. We need to explore ways to allow seniors to age in place or at purpose-built housing facilities.  The Pender Harbour Seniors Housing Initiative has taken the lead on this issue in our community.
